ABOUT OUR CLUB
Edmonton Storm was formed to provide a senior club for the large number of Edmonton Storm Juniors who continually grow (Last year they had over 350+ players), making it one of the biggest clubs in Cairns.
Edmonton Storm Rugby League was incorporated in 2005 and gained affiliation into the Cairns and District Rugby League competition for the 2006 Season. Over time Edmonton Storm have been able to field teams each week in the competition and have proven to the CDRL that the club, over time has become a strong, integral part of the competition.
Over the past few years Edmonton Storm have grown and expanded and now have their own training/playing grounds in Edmonton at the Cnr of Peterson Rd and Mt Peter Road.
In 2019 Edmonton Storm Seniors ended the season with over 160+ Registered players spread out in, A Grade, Reserve Grade, Under 18’s and Women’s League Tag.
Also in 2019, our Under 18’s won the 2019 Premiership Competition.
COVID took away our year of league in 2020, however we are happy to say that in 2021 we will field 3 Male Competitive Teams again with A Grade, Reserve Grade and Under 18’s. CDRL are also looking at continuing introducing a Women’s Competition including League Tackle and Tag. This introduction will help forge the club and families bonding together over their love of League.
We have many wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the season and in the off season to ensure that we have a successful club, each and every year. We have Senior players who help volunteer and Coach the Junior Players at Edmonton JRL, many who do not have children playing, they do it simply for the love of League and Our Community.
Anthony Satrick (Bondy) has taken on the Head Coach and A Grade Coach role again this year and Brett Dillon taking on 18's this year. Along with their team of volunteers and strong players, we will see a very successful 2021.
